Briefs on the merit are due the Texas Supreme Court Tuesday February 27, 2018 in a public records lawsuit filed against Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls and Fort Bend County, Texas. Two of the questions pertaining to the lawsuit are “when is a delay or stall in responding to a public information request tantamount to a refusal to provide the information unless the requestor files a lawsuit” and “can a governmental entity escape responsibility for payment of attorney’s fees in a public information act lawsuit should the plaintiff prevail”?
