Mexican national arrested for capital murder of 75-yr old Houston woman

Houston, TX – A Mexican national of unknown age and in the U.S. illegally was arrested Monday for the capital murder of a 75-year old woman in the Houston community of Sharpstown.

Harris County District Clerk public records show Marco Cobos, age unknown and birthplace listed as Mexico was homeless and is currently being held at the Baker Street jail.

 

Public records further indicate an immigration detainer was placed on Cobos Wednesday May 22, 2019, and also reflect documents received by the court pertaining to an alleged mental illness or intellectual disability be kept under seal. Additionally, an order for a mental health or intellectual disability assessment was placed in the public records.

 

A preliminary court appearance is set for Thursday May 23, 2019 at 9:00am local in the 174th Criminal Court, Judge Hazel B. Jones presiding.

 

The case is styled The State of Texas v Marco Cobos cause number 163232801010.
